Bali Rice Terrace Guide - Tegallalang vs Jatiluwih
Bali two most famous rice terraces offer different experiences. Here is which one to choose based on what you are looking for.
Tegallalang Rice Terraces near Ubud are the most visited. They are photogenic, accessible, and have Instagram swings. Drawback: crowded by 10 AM. Visit at 8 AM for best experience.
Jatiluwih Rice Terraces are a UNESCO World Heritage site. Much larger, less crowded, and showcase the traditional Subak irrigation system. The drive takes longer but the views are more expansive.
Our recommendation: visit Tegallalang in the morning on your Ubud tour, and save Jatiluwih for a separate day combined with Tanah Lot sunset.
