What to Wear at Bali Temples - Dress Code Guide

Visiting Bali temples requires appropriate attire. Here is what you need to know about the dress code and where to get a sarong.

All visitors to Bali temples must wear a sarong (waist wrap) and sash. Most temples provide them for rent (Rp 10,000-20,000) or free with entry ticket. Our tours include a sarong for each guest.

Cover your shoulders and knees. Tank tops and short shorts are not appropriate. Bring a light cardigan or shawl. Women who are menstruating are traditionally not permitted to enter temples.

Remove shoes before entering the inner sanctum of any temple. Do not stand higher than the priests or offerings. Always be respectful of ceremonies in progress.
